About Paradoxplace

Tindari and the Black Madonna

Not on your usual tour itinery, but Tindari, another Greek / Roman site, this time on the North coast, is in yet another beautiful high altitude setting.

On the left - a Roman heating system

And in the huge purpose built 1950s Basilica next door, is the much revered Black Madonna - a larger than life iconic figure "from the East" dating back to the second half of the first millenium.

Before too long the journey from Cefalu to Messina will be much quicker using this presently under construction motorway
