The Greek Theatre, dating from the 500s BC and much of which is cut out of solid rock, could seat 15,000 people and is one of the biggest surviving ancient theatres.

The ruins of the Norman church of San Giovanni, entry to a large underground catacomb town which can be visited.
The Orecchio di Dionoso (Ear of Dionosus) artificial cavern in the massive ancient quarry next to the Greek Theatre, where all the stone used to build Ortigia came from. That's a person standing indistinctly in the entrance!
